In the third quarter of 2023, the top Travel and Local apps on the Android platform in the Netherlands displayed diverse performance patterns. Here’s a closer look at the weekly trends for downloads and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Polarsteps - Travel Tracker experienced an overall increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 23.6K in mid-July before seeing a gradual decline to 9.2K by the end of September. Active users for the app also saw a rise, reaching a high of 89.8K at the end of July, before tapering off to around 64.2K by the end of the quarter.

NS had relatively steady weekly download numbers, fluctuating between 8K and 11.4K throughout the quarter. The app's active users showed a consistent upward trend, climbing from 109K at the end of June to a peak of 127K in mid-September.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel saw a mixed performance in weekly downloads, starting at 9.7K at the end of June and gradually declining to 6.5K by the end of September. The app's active users similarly decreased over the quarter, from 322K at the end of June to 280K by late September.

Social Deal - The best deals experienced a slight dip in weekly downloads, starting at 8.5K in late June and ending at 5.9K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 88K at the beginning of the quarter and slightly reducing to 81K by the end.

Lastly, 9292 public transport & ticket showed an interesting pattern in weekly downloads, with a notable peak of 8.6K in late August. Weekly active users saw a significant rise, from 282K at the end of June to a high of 308K in mid-September, before slightly dropping to 292K by the end of the quarter.
